In the year prior to COVID-19, the movie was well on its way. The film was totally funded and after nine months of collaboration the screenplay was finally completed. However, just as we were ready to begin, the pandemic hit. Like thousands of businesses, making the Potevka movie came to an abrupt halt. After 18 months, our investor/producer unfortunately pulled his financial commitment.
Now the good news; now that COVID is, hopefully, behind us and the world is seemingly getting back to normal, we are again engaged with other producers in hopes that we can get our Train to Potevka movie back on track.
Before COVID hit, the old Soviet cities of Vilnius, Lithuania and Sofia, Bulgaria were chosen as the locations where the movie will be filmed. We found everything we need for the Potevka film in these beautiful cities: the train station, the safe house, the babushkas, etc. Along with the production team, Bonnie and I will be involved from the beginning to the end of making the film. We look upon this as a wonderful opportunity, as well as a great learning experience. Based on our experiences of the last few years, we are definitely learning it takes a long time to put a movie together. Once the production of the movie begins, we intend to create a weekly blog to share our experiences and the progress of the film. We will be thrilled to see Train to Potevka made in to a major motion picture and we look forward to sharing this experience with you!
