In the year prior to COVID-19, the movie was well on its way. The film was totally funded and after nine months of collaboration, the screenplay was finally completed. However, just as we were ready to begin, the pandemic hit. Like thousands of businesses worldwide, making the Potevka movie came to an abrupt halt. After 18 months our investor, unfortunately, pulled his financial commitment.
Now the good news; since COVID is behind us and the world has seemingly returned to normal, we are once again engaged with other investors and producers in hopes that we can get our Train to Potevka movie back on track.
While doing our original movie scout in Eastern Europe, the old Soviet cities of Vilnius, Lithuania and Sofia, Bulgaria were determined as prime locations where the movie could be filmed. We found everything we need for the Potevka film in these beautiful cities: the train stations, the safe house, the old babushkas, etc. In support of the production team, Bonnie and I will have the opportunity to be involved from the beginning to the end of making the film. We look upon this as a great learning experience. Based on our experiences of the last several years, we have definitely learned it takes a long time to put a movie together. Once the production of the movie begins, we intend to create a blog to share our experiences and the progress of the film. We will be thrilled to finally see Train to Potevka in the movie theaters and we look forward to sharing this experience with each of you!
