In the year prior to COVID-19, the movie was well on its way. The film was totally funded and after nine months of collaboration the screenplay was finally done. Just as we were ready to launch, COVID hit. Like thousands of businesses, putting Potevka on the screen came to an abrupt halt.
After 18 months and the world in stand-still, our investor/producer pulled his financial commitment to other on-going projects.
Now the good news; now that COVID is, hopefully, behind us and the world is seemingly getting back to normal, we are again engaged with other producers in hopes that we can get our Train to Potevka movie back on track.
Before COVID hit, the old Soviet cities of Vilnius, Lithuania and Sofia, Bulgaria were chosen as the locations where the movie will be filmed. We found everything we need for the Potevka film in these beautiful cities: the train station, the safe house, the babushkas, etc. Along with the production team, Bonnie and I will be involved from the beginning to the end of making the film. We look upon this as a wonderful opportunity, as well as a great learning experience. And based on our experiences for the last three-and-a-half years, we are definitely learning it takes a long time to put a movie together. Once the production of the movie begins, we intend to create a weekly blog to share our experiences and the progress of the film.
We are thrilled to see Train to Potevka made in to a major motion picture and we look forward to sharing this experience with you!
